Hi there, thank you for your feedback.
Before focusing on bulk updates (2 &3), i will start adding the first feature you are talking about.
I was thinking to call it 'Rollback', which can only be available if the audit log is an update event AND the record must still exist in the system. After that, you should be able to make a selection of the changed attributes, because in some cases you don't want to rollback every field.
At first this will only work for a single audit log, after that i want to work on the 'Restore' feature , which will re-create a single record that has been deleted.
After 'Single Rollback' and 'Single Restore' is implemented in Audit Engine, i will be working on the bulk versions of both features.
Cheers!
Description:
Introducing the ability to revert changes within the tool, potentially even for specific fields, would significantly enhance its functionality. This feature would empower users to easily undo modifications in Dynamics 365 records, offering more control and precision in managing data.
Benefits:
Mistakes often occur during data entry or system integrations. Having the ability to revert changes would allow users to quickly undo errors made through the interface without the need to manually restore each field, saving time and reducing the risk of further mistakes.
During data imports, bulk updates can sometimes go wrong—whether due to incorrect mappings, formatting issues, or faulty data. A feature that allows users to revert imported changes (even for specific fields) would allow users to reverse these errors without having to re-import or manually clean up the affected data.
When performing bulk updates, there is always the risk of unintended consequences (e.g., updating the wrong set of records or fields). The ability to revert changes, either globally or for specific fields, would provide a safety net, ensuring that users can quickly undo mass updates and restore data to its original state without extensive manual intervention.
