paper 1.20.4 server not seeing emotes #17

I've noticed the mod works fine with 1.20.4, but I installed it on a paper server for 1.20.4 and I get this message in the server, stating that it sent the config file, but still no emotes show up in chat? streamotes

Well, did you get any messages in the game? Post full logs from the client

no there were no messages in the game. I typed LUL and nothing showed up either.

From my testing, they get fixed after /streamotes reload

Wait, so I need the mod as well as the plugin? In my testing, if every client just downloads the mod, then there's no point to the plugin?

Was under the impression that the plugin would allow users that don't have the mod installed to still be able to see/type emotes.

Server plugins cannot add functionality to clients they didn't already support.

Read the mod page next time before wasting people's time please.
