Thread Suggestion #82

Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. No.

Describe the solution you'd like A roleless threads based notification system using private threads for each notification schedule.

  1. A Notification Channel ( either Text or Forum :new: ) that has the general instructions for the bots notifications;
  2. Private Threads devoted to each notification options ( War 1, War 2, War 3, War 4, Portal … ) where all the notifications for that item are sent.
  3. A command for selecting notifications.
  4. Add people to the private threads they need w/ invite when they add a notification.
  5. Remove people from the threads they unselect: there is a bot only command for uninviting from private threads.

Describe alternatives you've considered Using roles to control notifications and a thread per war, expedition.

Additional context I may have misunderstood the original threads idea. I got the impression it was creating a new thread every war.

To be honest, I was originally considering doing exactly this.... That is, optionally, creating a thread per event, to assist with message clearing and such.

After I implemented the message clearing in the previous production release, I assumed nobody else was looking forward to this feature, so, I closed it. #57 (I don't receive too much feedback...... oddly, despite WarBOT being used on nearly 1,000 guilds)

Will investigate adding this in.

Forum Support: Based on the information for forum channels, we don't have them yet despite one notice saying we do, you are supposed to be able to follow individual posts/threads.

Could have a forum channel w/ post for each message category and then let people follow the ones they want no roles needed.

Most people have described it as reddit ripoff
