One of the advantage of Xubuntu is ease of use.
I think that Ubuntu and Kubuntu aren't easy to use :
- for aged people who started to use a computer with Microsoft Windows 95, 98, XP, etc.
- for professionals which have to performe a task as fast as possible with the fewest number of cognitive difficulties
- anyway they have useless items which lead to cognitive difficulties
Think about the mobile phones before the Iphone were created : a lot of buttons, each button providing a function which should help the user but instead lead him/her to cognitive difficulties.
Whatever the developpers are interrested to developp, I think we can't make as simple to understand than a single task bar which allows to interact and view :
- the windows
- the available applications on the system (menu button)
- a few indicators (network status, time, ...)
- possibly a few shortcuts for launching applications
Think about that : "less is best".

Hi,
Thanks for your bug report. You should submit and discuss this proposal to the xubuntu-devel mailing list, instead of here, as a bug report isn't the best place for discussion.
