Hi,
A few weeks ago I installed Ubuntu 18.04.1 on my old desktop computer. I assigned a few keys via XFCE's menu Application > Settings > WindowManager > Keyboard, including Ctl-Alt-a to "maximize window".
This worked for a few weeks, but this morning I dist-upgraded the machine (didn't do it for ~1-2 weeks) and it does not work anymore.
When I assign "maximize" to Ctl-Alt-b, it works again, but not when I switch again to Ctl-Alt-a.
I have cleared almost all the other keybindings, with no more luck
This key sequence seems to be intercepted somewhere in the lastest version of XFCE (4.12.4). Indeed, when the "Window Manager" settings window is opened, and I type Ctl-Alt-a, I see the "style" pane blinks. In other windows Ctl-Alt-a selects/blinks the first available button. So it seems Ctl-Alt-a is interpreted as something like "select (first) pane/GUI element".

Maybe the linked fix is not fully resolving this particular bug.

Did you install xubuntu-desktop or xubuntu-default-settings?

This issue seems to be resolved in Xubuntu 22.10 with Xfce 4.16. Please test it again on 22.04 or newer and let us know if it is resolved for you.
Thanks!
