Search in feed list (while feeds filter is set to show only "new") does not find other non "new" feeds #41

Search in feed list (only new for example) do not find "old" feeds, it is not possible to have all in search?

Xyrio commented 5 years ago

at the top of the feed tree list is a button "filter state" to show only feeds containing news with the state: new/unread/stick/erroneous/never visited. after changing that filter you can additionally still search by text when typing there as usual.

the menu / feed is for filtering the menu drop down tree inside the menu

the menu / edit / search news... can also search by "state of news"

Yes, I show only "new" but when I search it is only in "new" not in "all" feeds.

Xyrio commented 5 years ago

set it back to show all feeds then?

Neustradamus commented 5 years ago

If we change the selection "new" instead of "all" to "all", and search again, it is good... But why not to have a search in all feeds directly in "new" mode?

Xyrio commented 5 years ago

because you changed to new mode thats why. then you are supposed to search only in new mode. makes totaly sense. the search is for what is currently visible. what you are asking is not intuitiv and would cause more confusion. and of course someone would ask to search only the visible then. adding an option for this small thing just creates more options making things more complex. i wont add this.
