[In Fx 3.6, check Unofficial-release] - Windows taskbar is hidden under Firefox window (autohide taskbar, etc) #3

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install "Hide Caption Titlebar plus 0.9.0.2"
2. Start Firefox

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Firefox window without title bar, visible Windows taskbar is expected. I
get Windows task bar hidden under Firefox window, much like in Firefox full
screen mode.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
Windows XP SP3, Firefox 3.5, Hide Caption Titlebar plus 0.9.0.2

Please provide any additional information below.

i can confirm this, but only have seen it once so far. unable to reproduce.
this is
with 'smart all' selected. i believe it happened by clicking on a link (JS
perhaps?)
but not sure - could've been minimizing/restoring window.

Happens more often when desktop shortcut properties set to run maximized window
or
using external application to maximize specific application windows and
restarting
firefox after selecting to use a new theme.

Can confirm this on Win7 x64.
when extension is alive, and firefox maximised (not f11) the taskbar is
obscured by
firefox.
Taskbar is only obscured when firefox has focus, if you use the win key to raise
taskbar, it will be on top of firefox, as expected.

Otherwise, just what i need! nice addon.

Also confirming the same issue as robster400 using Win7 x64. Would be great to
have
this fixed now that FF 3.6 is out and the other hide caption add on is no longer
compatible.

I installed Hide Caption Titlebar plus 0.9.3.2 in my Windows XP, Firefox 3.6.

Check the attached document showing the options i set for this addon along with
my
firefox homepage (Not in full screen mode).

The last image clearly depicts that my windows titlebar is not visible. So it
seems
to be this addon works much like a full screen.

If i am missing any thing plz help me to correct.

Yes, with this extension, my win7 task bar will be invisible. It's a little
annoying because my taskbar is auto-hide.

I have the same problem, it does it for all options, except Smart All, and
Always(Firefox Default). The problem has to do with the other options. When I
open it maximized in Smart All, it doesnt cover windows taskbar, but on the
others, it does.
And I'm using Windows 7 x64 laptop.

disregard that, i know how to fix it.
First, enable the Never, or Smart Popups.
Next, go to Positioning tab, and click the Single Moniter, then check at bottom
"Add compatibility for automatic option in 'Never' and 'Smart Popups' modes
(those with hidden standard caption)" option.
that fixed this bug for me.

Since the update the task bar wont appear when this extension is active.
I use "auto-hide task bar" on windows 7 x64 machine.
I still use the addon because I mostly use alt + tab anyway, it's just a little
annoyance

Same issue here with XP SP3...the weird thing is I have two FF profiles setup,
on one it works fine (the windows taskbar autohide works). On the other the
taskbar will only show by either hitting the windows button or ctl-esc. For
the life of me the options look to be the same between the two profiles, and if
I disable the addon then the taskbar functions normally.

Kind of annoying, but I'll keep the addon active because I like the screen look.

In Win XP, Firefox 3.6, please check Unofficial-release-Ver-2.0.4rc available
here in the DOWNLOADS section (It will make to AMO site this weekend)

I will try the Win 7 'autohide taskbar'.

See RELEASE NOTES included.
