Well, last time I checked, Fx4 beta still didn't support the 'modern' way
(chromemargin attribute) of hiding the system titlebar.
But It's scheduled to have it like Fx4 beta already does in windows.
I'll continue to research on this before final Fx4 arrives.

Try with this guide:
http://www.webupd8.org/2011/03/firefox-4-get-tabs-in-title-bar-like.html
It worked for me.

Yes I can confirm that the above suggestion really works. It is indeed the
window manager that has to do with the solution, and I'm glad that Compiz is
providing such a handy and flexible setting interface.
Although now that this extension does not really function to hide the titlebar
on Linux, however it still provides the window controlling buttons and other
toolbar components to me, so I have enable to use it anyway (but disabling the
custom Firefox button, which I use Movable Firefox Button to replace).

I'm using Xubuntu and I don't want use Compiz!
There is any other work-around to solve this problem?
Now I'm using this one
http://support.mozilla.com/rm/questions/782155#answer-142318
but it hides the window decoration and I can't resize the window using corner
anchors.
thank you!

Hiding the titlebar in Linux-Gnome is WORKING again in last version 2.3.0 !
I've tried in Ubuntu & Mint with Gnome. Please let me know if this is solved in
all other desktops too!
FYI: there is a new option in the setting dialog to enable/disable this.
(advanced settings panel)
tks!
