Building Profile #6

Closed mongmedia closed 7 years ago

mongmedia commented 7 years ago

This is a building profile page, which includes a left sidebar that has quicklinks to various sections of building data. The map and gallery views are interchangeable.

Regarding the text descriptions, in order to keep the building history concise at first view, let's show the first 100 words of the paragraph field and then do a "show more > " link for readers to expand.

The bottom row of thumbnails can be related buildings or possible tour related.

What happens when users click the "Suggest an Edit" or "Community Stories" buttons?

mongmedia commented 7 years ago

Hi, Doug - For now, Suggest an Edit will open their e-mail client and allow them to e-mail Elihu. We should get a proper e-mail address for this. Once more dev bandwidth is available, we can use the mocks for a submission form but it's a "nice to have" priority.

The community stories is mapped to the field "Storymaps URL" - this is if Elihu decides to do a crowdsourced storymap. If so, they would just drop in the link and then "Community Stories" would open a new tab that show the stories for this particular building or neighborhood.

If the field is blank, this link will not appear initially. Once it's filled in, then the link and the line below it will appear.

Excellent, thank you!

What should it look like when users click the 'enlargen' icon on the image?

duhaime commented 7 years ago

Would you be able to display the full contents of the building text box? (I can't tell what comes after Social History)

duhaime commented 7 years ago

Just to verify: should we only display the table at the top of the text column if we have one or more fields within the table present in the db for the building?

duhaime commented 7 years ago

In the text field, how many words should we show before using the show more button?

mongmedia commented 7 years ago

1) Enlarge: So this would be the icon to open the lightbox. Perhaps in this first iteration we don't need to tackled that. But if there is room for those "nice to haves" this is listed in there.

2) For the text, all of it from overview to data will be on the profile page as one scrolling section. The links on the left would just jump you down to that section.

3) For each of the building history text fields, let's show 100 words and then "show more >"

Excellent, many thanks. Would you be able to create a lightbox issue with a mock up?

With regards to the text, I was asking if you could list the fields as they should appear in order (I can tell the text column starts with a table then has Overview, then sometime later in the text column has Physical Description, etc, but I can't identify the total set of all fields to be included in the text column).

Could I ask you to drop the icons for the buttons on the left hand side of this view in the icons folder in the dropbox as svg + png?

duhaime commented 7 years ago

Once those icons are ready I can plug them in and close this issue

mongmedia commented 7 years ago

Icons are now in the images folder in the GitHub. The OnRollover color is #EDA138

Awesome, thank you!
