Backspace - deleting selection #4

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. type "a"
2. press left arrow while holding shift
3. press backspace

Pressing backspace should delete the selected "a" but nothing happens. This
is because the backspace event is ignored when caret is on first position
in prompt.

The attached patch solves this.
