Assert Takeoff #11

Open raamsri opened 1 month ago

raamsri commented 1 month ago

Assess 5 meteo parameters to assert the possibility of a takeoff for a given time window & lat/long co-ords, satisfying atleast a 60% confidence target.

@raamsri this is what i think we should concentrate on for takeoff

  1. Visibilty - highest in the day
  2. Fog probablity - 0 in the time window
  3. Windspeed during takeoff was around 1.5-2 m/s
  4. Windspeed80m was also pretty consistent like the windspeed @takeoff
  5. Helicity around 0-400, lower the more optimal, as stable weather
  6. Gust - more than takeoff windspeed than sure, was generally higher around 3- 6m/s
  7. Convective Updraft Velocity - around 3, but it was generally the highest of the day Generic stuff - all the rain and thunder stuff must be around 0 sea lvl pressure, air density was constant throughout the day Most of them took-off b/w 10am - 2pm

Other things like temperature, wind chill were different for every region, but i think it was almost the highest of the day when they took-off. I think lift-index might also be useful, but i saw a lot of variation and couldn't deduce a pattern

I also noticed a discrepancy between the altitude given by MB and the one mentioned at X contest. Some have around a 25m difference, but i have seen around a 100m difference(the altitude on xcontest was 103m, but the height in MB was 0m https://www.xcontest.org/world/en/flights/detail:Julimoreno/21.09.2024/08:53#fd=takeoff) What should be done?
