YouTube Center not loading #1894

alchemist-zim commented 9 years ago

YouTube Center is not loading via extensions or tampermonkey in multiple versions of Chromium I've tested this on the following Windows 8.1 - 45.0.2431.0 Windows 7 - 45.0.2424.0

I have an older version of Chromium which is portable (41.0.2251.0) which appears to be working fine via both extensions and tampermonkey

My Chromium builds are updated weekly, and this just occurred this weekend

If you haven't already, install the latest developer version which can be downloaded from here: https://github.com/YePpHa/YouTubeCenter/wiki/Developer-Version

alchemist-zim commented 9 years ago

If the latest dev version is still 525 then that is what is installed on all instances

Yonezpt commented 9 years ago

Another user reported that disabling and re-enabling the scripts did the trick for him https://github.com/YePpHa/YouTubeCenter/issues/1885#issuecomment-111179808

On my end YTC hasn't stopped working yet, so it is some problem on your end, might even be a conflicting extension causing this issue. Also YTC extension version doesn't work in Chrome as standard due to the webstore restrictions Chrome imposed, so only the userscript version is advised for Chrome.

alchemist-zim commented 9 years ago

I will probably back track through the versions of chromium to see when it stopped working.

are there any settings i should be aware of for it to work with tampermonkey?

Yonezpt commented 9 years ago

Just noticed that you mentioned Chromium, not Chrome. In that case I can't see anything else that I could suggest for you to try other than to check for any extension conflicts that might be happening, including other userscripts, so disable everything except YTC, and if it starts working then enable one by one until you find the culprit.

cool thanks

Youtube is changing layout. YTC works on some videos, and not on others for me. Unfortunately now after 2 days it mostly doesn't work ...

root-reindeer-flotilla commented 9 years ago

Reporting same problem, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. chrome dev version

MechanoRealist commented 9 years ago

YTC just got kicked out of youtube again for me.

Any news on yepha? He has disappeared last contribution was a month ago and that's unusual for him.

Pontiac76 commented 9 years ago

It wouldn't surprise me if he was told by YT to stop doing what he's doing, but, the odd part of that is that YT wouldn't just tell him to stop, but, tell him to take the code down.

@Sigi-cz Thankz, i had YTC work for 1 video today...i guess some have switched over while some have not

Lucatir commented 9 years ago

As this issue is not just limited to Chromium, I'd guess this is a duplicate of #1885

lunghd commented 9 years ago

Same for me - no longer working w/ script or extension on FireFox previous version & after updating to 38.0.5.

lunghd commented 9 years ago

1563 mentioned an issue with Scriptish that may be worth mentioning as our problems were so similar.

I tried to uninstall Scriptish & use Greasemonkey & found that the uninstall process froze.. and then a couple of other scripts & extensions also froze as if unable to install or uninstall (depending on which one it was).

I took a screenshot of all extensions & add-ons so I could recover them & used the Mozilla 'Refresh' option which reset FireFox to it's basic settings (while saving passwords, bookmarks, tabs etc).

Installed Greasemonkey & YTC and Voila! It's back doing it's wonderful YTC thang on YouTube!

SuperSajuuk commented 9 years ago

This is happening to me in Tampermonkey. It doesn't always happen though, but it's most apparent on video watch pages: the video plays through YouTube's normal scaling method, then the script loads and the whole video resets.

This is normally taking at least 5-10 seconds to fully occur and it's exceptionally annoying. However, since the YT player now scales similarly as to how I have it in the script, I'm not sure I'll be needing the script much longer....

Using latest Chrome, latest Tampermonkey, latest developer version, even tried the "disable the scripts, then re-enable them" mentioned above, but did nothing... no idea what is causing the major scripting lag.

This script was supposed to help my browsing of YouTube. Now it's becoming an unnecessary hindrance: the only "real" feature I need from this script is the "force a specific resolution instead of using automatic resolution changing" feature...

lunghd commented 9 years ago

I hate to say it but I think it's a 'perfect storm' combination of browser settings, script settings & script loader. As I said - I saved EVERYTHING so I could reload other scripts etc, saved bookmarks etc... and totally reset my browser to a 'fresh install' (FireFox in my case - full refresh done from Mozilla site... NOT A REINSTALL.)

After that, I installed Greasemonkey (instead of Scriptish) and the latest dev version of YTC. Working perfectly now! Try a full reset of your browser (NOT a reinstall), load the developer version of YTC and try again.

There are also a couple of scripts out there that will just force resolution you want (preloads too etc).
