Videos from YouTube start to load and then the screen turns white #2447

I am a big fan of YouTube center and have used the YouTube center Developer Build 548 thru Greasemonkey 3.11 for a long time because I love all of the controls it gives me to control videos like preventing auto play and letting the video buffer first as well as many other features unavailable with any other add-on.

I don't know what has changed but now I have to disable the script to prevent the blank white screen when try to open any videos, new or saved. This must be something that YouTube did to their format. I am only going to disable YouTube center Developer Build 548 in Greasemonkey for now but now remove it. I hope that there will be an update soon, maybe a #549 that will bring the script back into play?

Also when I click on the cog wheel now to get to the settings, the menu pages are all smashed together so I cannot read half of them. I know that Jeppe Rune Mortensen said before that his editing has been reduced due to working a full time job now, but this is the very best YouTube center controller I have ever had and I really want it back! Please,Please update the script to work with the current YouTube changes.

The problem is with YouTube changing. You can revert back to the old YouTube. Are you using Mozilla?

Using Chrome and Vivaldi. How to revert back to the old YouTube?

DuskyVoltage commented 7 years ago

Disable youtube center to avoid the white screen. Then click on your user icon in the top right, there'll be a button at the bottom of the dropdown labelled "Restore old youtube design" or something similar. Click that, renable YTC, and you're done.

I did figure out that disabling my YTC userscript removed the white screen but I was still losing YTC functions which is my favorite, but then

I also did figure out from the web about YouTube changing their format which upset alot of people and screwed up several other add-ons functions and how to click on my YouTube profile picture to get to the drop down menu where "Restore old YouTube" was at. After the restore, I did reactivate YTC and it works again as well as the other add-ons also! Thanks for your prompt response.

I knew that it had to be something with YouTube because it was screwed up in Chrome as well.

KSSea,

I don't know what to tell you about Chrome. I have both Mozilla and Chrome and when I resorted back to the old YouTube, Mozilla does great but Chrome is still screwed up. I use Mozilla because they have an incredible amount of Add-ons and Chrome's add-ons are pathetic. They hardly have anything for YouTube and I found that when I did try tried to install them, they tried to cross sell other ones. The few that I thought I might like, they wanted me to buy.

In Mozilla I use GreaseMonkey for userscripts and when you go to a site and try to install a userscript, GreaseMonkey grabs it for you and installs it, making the YouTube Developers Build easy to install, but in Chrome I use TamperMonkey which is good also but Chrome tries to block to much. When I try to download the YTC userscript, TamperMonkey can't get it because Chrome just blocks it and says it cannot install from this site. Chrome is just not very userfriendly. I am ready to uninstall it.

I'm glad for you Sam288. Thats what my YTC screen looked like also in Mozilla. I was very frustrated because YouTube Center Developers Build works the best off them all and YouTube is a big thing with me and some of these companies need to stop updating if everything is working fine because they just screw things up.
