Any good alternatives to Maia and Youtube Center?

Hi!

If wonder if there's anything good out there that is actively maintained.

Maia and YTC had some cool rare and maybe some unique features.

But YTC is abandoned and Maia is 90% broken now. A bunch of stuff seems to have broken today. Even though I'm using the old YT layout and it didn't go away yet. I expect things to get even worse when the old layout is removed.

I miss the disable autoplay feature most. Didn't find a decent alternative. There's the "YouTube no Buffer (no autoplay)" addon, which works, but it lets the video play for a split second, and completely breaks timecoded links. YTC/maia completely prevented playback and buffering and properly seeking to the appropriate timecode when clicking to play the video.

you can use the Brave browser ctrl+left mouse or middle mouse click to open the video in new tab will load the page and stop buffering and autoplay until you visit that tab

Well, it looks like the "Prevent player elements from getting focus" started failing as well. Sucks...This was probably the most unique feature of Maia and worked around this horrible design feature of Youtube.

A good all-in-one alternative is https://github.com/ImprovedTube/ImprovedTube/ It's not the YTC/Maia replacement, but it does have some of its features, esp. the beta: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/improvedtube/lodjfjlkodalimdjgncejhkadjhacgki/

Unsurprisingly, it does absolutely nothing, all other stuff I have been using at the time it was released also broke. I tried with the current layout not the old one. But the old is missing several features, and will be discontinued soon, anyway.

I don't use Firefox, so maybe the script still works in Chromium-based browsers but not in Firefox? I know YouTube is a little iffy in Firefox anyway as Google optimizes it for Chrome.

As for ImprovedTube: there's a Firefox version as well, but you have to load it manually for now as it hasn't been published yet (see README for installation notes - it's very easy, though): https://github.com/ImprovedTube/ImprovedTube

also using firefox stop autoplay sometimes doesn't work and buffering still happens

Waterfox Classic 2020.05(up to date as of writing,) using youtube restore classic script to restore interface, many important features of youtube center(control of autoplay/autonext, fullscreen top player, only allowing 1 video to play at a time etc) are still working for me.
