Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

So far, outside of getting help in-game the primary way of asking questions on how to do things in Resonite is through the Discord server's forums.

Currently this has several issues:

This means that while the Wiki is a repository of information that can be searched for and linked to, the various questions and answers that people provide about doing things in the game cannot serve the same function.

Describe the solution you'd like

Create a webforum to accompany the Resonite Wiki. Encourage users to asks questions on the website and Mentors and other users to answer them.

This would allow crossreferencing of Wiki articles and forum posts, as they can be linked to, increasing the pace of growth for the body of knowledge shared by the Resonite community.

Describe alternatives you've considered

Continue using the current Discord forums. This may be preferable as Discord is very popular and using forums has fallen out of fashion. The website has replaced many of the functions that a forum used to provide.

Additional Context

Encouraging adoption of the forums would be very important as Discord is the default for many people and greatly benefits from the network effect.

Probably another alternative would be to make more tutorials on the wiki. But the only problem right now is people having the motivation to make such tutorials. Or maybe we need to have a more organized way of getting a list of tutorials that people deem "popular" or "wanted" so people can go an make them.

I think the existence of a forum would benefit the creation of tutorials too. Consider the following flow:

While the Discord forums don't prevent this from happening, it does interrupt this cycle somewhat due to the linking problem

I think this will be benificial in multiple ways.

  1. Could be linked to a resonite account allowing for mentor and other roles to be applied automaticly.
  2. would allow for more customization
  3. Opens up the possibility to move away from githubs discussions (which requires yet another account)
  4. Could possibly open up the ability for the developers to do blog posts and announcements on the forum

While for most games discord works just fine due to Resonites complexity and discords rather bad UI design and search I think making a dedicated web forum would be benificial.

It's would be similar to how most minecraft servers today use discords and forum software for more complex / in-depth topics.

Some forum software that might be a good fit is:

Creating a forum could also include ways of interacting with it in-game officially. For example through facets
