if this is implemented having this be separate for VR and desktop would be a good idea, I for one have an RTO on my head only active in desktop.
For your information, there is a mod that implements this feature. It works by attaching a comment component to any slot (such as Head) to hide the object from the 1st person view. https://github.com/hantabaru1014/HeadCullingMask
However, I hope that an easier method will be officially supported in the future.
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.
On some avatars, you might see your head or hair, Some avatar creators are fine with the face clipping through while others find seeing anything attached to the view unbearable. Very old avatars or avatars only set up on desktop untested in VR tend to have view problems and you might blind yourself when equipping these.
Describe the solution you'd like
Since all avatars now have a render transform override on the head have a setting to automatically override head scale to 0
Describe alternatives you've considered
Alternatively manually setting the values with an inspector. When trying on avatars from public folders or worlds this adds extra inconvenience especially if you don't intend to save the avatar to your inventory and requires you to have builder permission in the world
