Resonite does not display in VR headset #398

Describe the bug?

When launching resonite on Linux with Proton, the game launches but does not display anything in the headset. Instead, the VR view is displayed in low resolution on the monitor. This view follows the headset position, and the laser lines also follow the controller positions.

To Reproduce

  1. Launch resonite with any combination of these settings:
    • proton experimental/ 8.0
    • steam runtime 1.0 / 2.0 / 3.0
    • steam running on arch linux (updated as of 10/22/23), or in flatpak
    • on index HMD
    • with desktop environment xfce4 or KDE plasma (both X11)
    • proprietary NVIDIA drivers (latest)
  2. wait for resonite to load, ~2 minutes
  3. resonite loads on monitor only, headset displays "Next Up" with the resonite logo

Expected behavior

  1. resonite launches and displays correctly in the headset

Could you try using proton 7? I know a people are finding proton 8 pretty good for VR stuff, but personally, 7 is the only one working for me (haven't had time to debug properly). Alternatively, you could try https://github.com/Yellow-Dog-Man/Resonite-Issues/issues/69 and see if the native version will work for you.
