Opening statement summary I am peer reviewing Yicheng’s paper on temporal and spatial analysis of hate crimes in Toronto, specifically covering neighborhood disparities.

Strong positive points The abstract is concise telling the reader exactly what the paper will be about. The introduction does a good job of introducing the reader the topic and what the rest of the paper will be about. There is a table of content making it easy for the reader to find specific sections. The README is updated to describe the project.

Critical improvements needed The remaining of the paper following introduction should be written to reflect the topic of the project. R Code should be cited and the other packages used too. Make sure the cross-references are updated to the labels of the graphs. Graphs can be put in showing what the data tells about the hate crimes in Toronto.

Suggestions for improvement: Please consider adding/changing/removing:

  1. Make sure to include references page to properly cite where everything is from
  2. Updating the labels of figures would help readers better understand what the figures are telling
  3. Removing unnecessary documents would make the project more clear for reproducibility
  4. Make sure to explain the relevance of the figures once they are put in

Reason: Because LLMs usage is not updated, Rcode not cited, & remaining of paper after introduction to be written.
