I get that error too. Tried to add MI LED Smart Essential bulb and got this error

I think the main problem is that after resetting the device and get the token code, the device changes the token as soon as it connects to internet. So you have to use the Xiaomi token extractor https://github.com/PiotrMachowski/Xiaomi-cloud-tokens-extractor to get the new token.
