fds2ascii for FDS 5.3.0 #845

Describe details of the issue below:
I have downloaded the newest version of FDS i.e. version 5.3.0.
Now I am trying to use fds2ascii here. But it doesn't work.
I can only enter the Job ID string <CHID>. But when I press ENTER the
window just closes, and that's it.
It gives a very quick error, but too quick to read.

1) I am using the latest fds2ascii
2) I have successfully run fds5 (i.e. you have an smv and output files
for fds2ascii to load)
3)  Ihave run fds2ascii from directory where the files are
4) I have typed UBahn-Bruessel_SZ1 when asked for CHID

The lines I am using are:

Have you opened a command prompt window and typed 'fds2ascii' at the prompt, or 
are 
you clicking on the file icon?

Look at the attached file. If I open a command prompt window, and then 
enter "fds2ascii" and then just type my name, I get an error but the window 
does not 
close. What happens when you do this?

Can you post the .exe file. It should be 

C:\Program Files\NIST\FDS\Utilities\fds2ascii.exe

Attach the actual file called fds2ascii.exe

I want to run it on my machine to see if I can reproduce your error.

I saved fds2ascii.exe to my disk. Then I renamed it to be sure I would not 
accidently run the existing fds2ascii on my system. The result is the same as 
before -- I do not see the command prompt window disappear.

I suggest you go to another PC and download the executable and try again. I 
believe 
there is something wrong with your machine. I cannot do anything to help 
further.

Its working perfectly ok. I have attached the file go through it.(Code was run 
for 10
sec).You you are running fds2ascii in wrong place probably.

Say file is on desktop in folder "baswolse" then follow this :

1) you get this 
run - cmd- c:\Documents and settings \ Administrator >
2) write "cd desktop" as follows 
c:\Documents and settings\Administrator>cd desktop

3) you get this 
c:\Documents and settings\Administrator\desktop>

4) Write "cd baswolse" as follows 
c:\Documents and settings\Administrator\desktop>cd baswolse

5) you get this 
c:\Documents and settings\Administrator\desktop\baswolse>

6)c:\Documents and settings\Administrator\desktop\baswolse>fds2ascii

now follow the User guide.
Keep in mind you have to run fds2ascii file in folder where you .smv file is 
lying.
