" forrtl: servere(170): Program Exception - stack overflow " error when 
trying to run attached simulation (approx 4.9 mill cells)

This case is too big to run on a 32 bit Windows machine. You need to use a 64 
bit 
operating system, or you need to break up the single mesh into smaller mulitple 
meshes and run the case in parallel on several individual computers.
