[!NOTE] It's important to understand that AppOpenAds are not shown when you open the application. That is NOT how Google expects you to use this ad type it should be shown when the application returns from a background state.

working fine at admob extension 1.3.3

but not working 1.3.4

It's important to understand that AppOpenAds are not shown when you open the application that is NOT how Google expects you to use this add type it should be shown when the application returns from a background state.

Hello again @searoopy,

we have fully tested the extension using Beta IDE v2024.400.0.532 Beta Runtime v2024.400.0.551, and all tests are passing using 2 different devices on with Android 9.0 and another with latest version.

  1. Which version of the IDE/Runtime are you using?
  2. Are you able to provide information on the load state of the ad? Should trigger an async event with the following data: {"type":"AdMob_AppOpenAd_OnLoaded","unit_id":"<your unit id>"}
  3. Are you using the demo/test unit ids?
  4. AppOpenAd has a limit of ads per preiod of time that is set in the user dashboard (make sure that you are not reaching this limit).

I don't know how to show openad when the old openad_show related function is gone.

You need to call both functions AdMob_AppOpenAd_Set_AdUnit with you ad-unit (if you are not using the extension options panel) and then enable the AppOpenAds with AdMob_AppOpenAd_Enable.

A new (revision) version v1.3.5 was now pushed with the fully updated offline documentation. Included in the datafiles of the project (files: GMEXT-AdMob <OS> Docs)

This worked well for the games we were already serving. v1.2.3 and v1.3.3

still doesn't work

In version 1.3.5, the

in version 1.3.5

banner, reward , initialreward ....all work fine, but the

only openAds doesn't work

In versions prior to 1.3.3 they all worked fine

The API function calls changed so you need to either change the OpenAd function calls to follow the current API or use a previous version of the extension.

You need to call both functions AdMob_AppOpenAd_Set_AdUnit with you ad-unit (if you are not using the extension options panel) and then enable the AppOpenAds with AdMob_AppOpenAd_Enable.

If after updating the logic in your game to use AdMob_AppOpenAd_Set_AdUnit and AdMob_AppOpenAd_Enable the problem persists please send us your project by creating a zendesk ticket so we can debug the problem.
