Stabilty: GM unstable after multiple copy, paste, undo, delete of instances #1684

Open gm-bug-reporter[bot] opened 1 year ago

Description

When editing levels/rooms, GameMaker would suddenly become unstable after a few iterations of moving instances, duplicating a bunch, undo-steps, deletion of instances...

I had this issue in my main project for multiple versions now. I tried to file this bug previously a few times but it never seemed reproducable with fresh new projects. I finally managed to do it tho. So I hope this helps!

Steps To Reproduce

Please see the videos. The end where it becomes unstable, my final action is always pressing the Delete key on my keyboard (attempting to remove an instance)

We may well need the project that you reproduced it with - especially if you yourself failed to reproduce any problems on your machine when using other projects.

Please add a comment here with a download link to a "Contact Us Package" (Help menu inside GameMaker) in which you said yes to including the current project.

Similarly, to anyone else who has this issue, you do not need to submit your own duplicate bug to send us your files - just add a comment onto this report and either drag on a project .yyz (you will need to rename the file extension to be .zip first) or give us a download link in your comment, so everything is in the one place.

I attached the whole project with the new bug submitter.

Hi! I just tested the newest version and I can't reproduce this bug anymore! :)

Unfortunately I have to report that my initial reply on the new release was wrong. Having worked with the new GameMaker version, I get messages of GameMaker having become unstable regularly still.

Please file bugs for these (so we get the ui.log and other info contained in the bug package)
