Audio sync groups are cool, but they've been left behind in terms of recent (and not-so-recent) additions to GameMaker's audio engine. For example, there's no easy way to:
Set audio playback parameters to sync groups (pitch, gain, offset, etc) (see YoYoGames/GameMaker-Bugs#3947)
Loop sync groups (see YoYoGames/GameMaker-Bugs#4301)
Play sync groups on emitters, and therefore
apply special effect busses to them
play them in 3D space
use any of the emitter features to control them
Describe the solution you'd like
If sync groups were more fully-featured more people would probably use them, but since nobody uses them, there's not much demand to bring them up to code
Describe alternatives you've considered
You can overengineer your own system/library/whatever to handle this all for you but since sync groups are already part of the engine, it would be super nice if they just worked like this in the first place
