Tutorial for Layers, Top-down z axis #3786

Feature Type: feat_addition_asset Description: I am making a top down Zelda style game, and it has been impossible to locate a tutorial or explanation of how to draw my character above or below other entities like in Zelda: A Link to the Past. I am part of several discord servers and it seems like an incredibly difficult challenge. I would love a small tutorial and explanation of depth, layers, draw order, through the lens of your character walking up or down a set of steps to change layers! Benefit: I am hitting a brick wall in the development of my game that is leaving me a bit discouraged from continuing. Seeing a professional example of how this is done would motivate me to continue and perhaps explore new ideas! Link:

This would be a great official tutorial. There are many depth sort examples out there, but not enough "stairs" and "bridges" tutorials out there. Really a perfect starter tutorial for anyone interested in creating a zelda clone.
