To be clear, cache cleans are never going to touch the game's own save area, as that's actually files elsewhere on your drive outside of GameMaker's usual folders. This would need to be a dedicated new menubar item.
Description
While creating the save data as inifiles, it is hard to determine is there a leftovers from earlier versions. The safest and fastest solution seems to be saving whole project to new directory folder now and then. Whether is this bug or a feature request, is to debate.
There seems to be no way to "CLEAN" the data, trought IDE? Theres multiple clean cache this and that! But not the working directory? I dont mean included files, but the files created at games running time, and clearing those trought IDE. I would like to "Purge" the "working directory" on "appdata/local/gamename". (what is odd, is that it doesn't have anything, but the files created in runtime, so it should be save to delete now and then, so i tryed hours and hours to find the proper clean button, but not found one...)
Steps To Reproduce
Greate game to save with multiple filenames of different datastructures. (You can have even "delete save files" in game menus) Then chance naming convension for filenames! (as the project grows) Then wait conflicts to happen :(
(Or in start of project, when you are prompting to yourself, what to save and what to not)
I don't use visual GML and i do know how to navigate, in appdata on windows. But everytime its super slow procedure , and always followed by fear of deleting wrong kind of data. Its frightening to think, that visualbasic coders, and less known by folder systems, does have to deal with this? And some people are very confused by the results, if you read the forums...
