Performance: The whole GameMaker IDE stutters on my computer since 2024.4 #6608

Description

I am experiencing an issue where the entire IDE (Inside workspaces at least) is kind of laggy. I don't know how to describe it but it's infuriating. When writing, it often visually pulls back on many letters that I've written, and then catches up again moments later, making typing anything extremely disorienting. When dragging to select text, the selector keeps jumping around seemingly randomly, even after I've stopped moving my mouse and after I've let go. If I am trying to select a specific part of a line, it still bounces around my mouse, making small adjustments infuriating. When scrolling, it sometimes scrolls the wrong way for just a single tick, and even after I've stopped scrolling, it sometimes jumps up and down a few ticks a few times (With ticks I'm reffering to a single mouse wheel scroll movement).

This happens only on my stationary PC and is not an issue on my much weaker laptop. This wasn't an issue on older releases of the IDE (late 2023) since the old GMS2 IDE on steam still works fine, but both the new GameMaker on steam and the ones downloaded as installers have this issue. It's not like I can use the older versions either since I need gpu_set_blendequation which Steam's GMS2 doesn't seem to have.

Here's a video of me showing it in action. You can see me shaking my mouse in frustration whenever the IDE is doing something that I'm not telling it to do.

Steps To Reproduce

I am not sure. This just happens by default not on my stationary PC on versions that are not the 2023 version of GMS2 on steam. That one doesn't have the issue.

IDE v2024.6.1.160 Runtime v2024.6.1.208

Hey. This is my report and I'd just like to add that I'm not experiencing it in 2024.2, but all updates after.

Could be related to: #2528

Also, I don't think it's related, since it's constantly an issue, no matter how long I've had the editor up.
