Readability bug #10404

Please give us a description of what happened.

The plugin displays on all my website pages: “The copy scores 0 in the Flesch Reading Ease test, which is considered very difficult to read. Try to make shorter sentences, using less difficult words to improve readability.“ Yesterday it was perfectly working and the plugin displayed the correct score.

I deactivated all plugins except Yoast and tested with another theme (Twenty sixteen). The bug is still there.

Please describe what you expected to happen and why.

The plugin should display the correct score.

How can we reproduce this behavior?

Are you using shortcodes in your text? Most of the time, those are the culprit. Can you copy the content of your post/page for me?

Can you also check for a conflict with another plugin or theme. Therefore we want to ask you to do the following:

If it doesn't occur anymore:

If the problem reoccurred after reactivating one of your plugins, please add that information to your bug report.

You can also use the Health Check plugin to check for conflicts (how to check for plugin conflicts).

Yes, I'm using shortcodes but even if I remove all of them in a page, it still doesn't work. I also did your step by step but no improvement with all plugin deactivated (except Yoast of course).

I've copied your content and when I remove the Raw JS module, the Flesch Reading Ease score changes to 55.7. This has actually been reported before and it's a duplicate of https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/10020. Therefore, I'm going to close this one. Please comment on the other issue if you have any additional information.

This probably isn't something we can fix but should be done by WP Bakery. Please reach out to them as well.
