Hi @xaviergimeno the editing of that field has been disabled since at least version 9.0 (just tested). This was done because it is difficult to get measurements and other data associated to an external image.
As this is a valid usage of the og:image tag we might be interested in looking for a way to make this available (discussed this with @jono-alderson ). We might look into enabling this feature without the calculation of all the related image data like width and height. This is already handled this way if an image from the content of a post is used as image (and it is not a featured image). Though this may cause other problems because Facebook really likes the width and height tags to be supplied.
@moorscode what do you think?
@moorscode Do we still ping the Facebook debugger on publish? If so, we don't need the w/h values.
Good to know for this discussion, this was also changed to achieve performance improvements, see: https://github.com/Yoast/wordpress-seo/issues/11484#issuecomment-435382020.

Hello Support team!
In versions prior to 9.7 of the plugin, you could add a url (not a "media library" file) to the Facebook or Twitter box if you wanted a custom image for each post or page. Yesterday, I created a new page, and I tried to do it, but I saw that this box is currently disabled by default (it appears in gray, and you can not add an image url, but an image file, which, in my case, is not very comfortable for me), and it can not be done. Would this box be possible to re-serve for this purpose? Thanks.
