WSOD with Gutenberg 8.3, WordPress SEO and other block plugins #15432

Please give us a description of what happened.

WSOD when attempting to edit content to document blocks for a particular plugin when Gutenberg 8.3.0 and WordPress SEO 14.3 are both active. image

How can we reproduce this behavior?

  1. Install and activate a plugin such as nhsblocks 1.1.6, Gutenberg 8.3.0 and Yoast SEO 14.3
  2. Attempt to create a new post.

Hi @bobbingwide, this has been submitted upstream, as the problem is with Gutenberg 8.3.0 . Please watch that issue to keep updated, I'm closing this one as duplicate.

Hmm, after re-reading your report, it seems to differ, I might've been a bit quick in my conclusion. Can you check if you've enabled the "Block Directories" experimental feature in Gutenberg?

Yes, I did have the Block Directory experiment enabled. Deselecting the checkbox fixes the problem. Thanks for your vigilance.

I still think it might be the same problem, just with other symptoms. But we'll see.

Do you want to remove the wait for feedback label as I've confirmed that I was using the experimental Block directory search feature.

The new release of Gutenberg 8.4.0 also fixes this issue for those who have been following this.
