Yoast SEO Plugin is disabling Visual Editor in Wordpress

What did you expect to happen?

That none of the wordpress basic functions would be disturbed

What happened instead?

The Visual Editor does not work. It initially shows up blank when opening a page/post, after switching from text editor back to visual, it then shows the content but does not save any changes created in visual editor, only in text editor.

all plugins were disabled one by one and the only one that created the problem was Yoast SEO

How can we reproduce this behavior?

use WordPress 4.6.1 upload and activate yoast. create a page and see for yourself that the visual editor does not properly work. Can you provide a link to a page which shows this issue?

Technical info

WordPress version: WordPress 4.6.1
Yoast SEO version: in the plugin it says it's been updated to Version 3.4.2, but in the plugins menu section it says it's version 3.7.1

Please provide us with errors shown in the JavaScript console ( https://kb.yoast.com/kb/how-to-find-javascript-errors-with-your-browsers-console/ ). Do you have any other plugins installed?

There were no javascript errors showing. Here is what is showing,

blank visual editor screen
you can go to text editor, see your info, go to visual, then it appears, but can't save changes made in visual editor, only text editor.
twitter info on each page we never set up to do that
errors stating no content on page when there is content on page (take it bc of visual editor being blank)
No keyword meta line
we removed all plugins and placed them back one by one. The only time problem came back was when we put yoast back up on the site

Does the issue happen with only Yoast SEO enabled?

Re-enabling plugins one by one doesn't check for possible conflicts between them.

Does the issue still occur if you switch to a core theme?

I would not attempt that. I have used this theme for two websites and it occurs for this website where as another seo program on the other site works fine

Unfortunately without any error messages to go by and in lack of clear way to reproduce in baseline environment (WP core and core theme) this isn't actionable for us.

Thanks to Saša Todorović, found that my theme was in fact hard-linking to an old version of jQuery UI... <script src="//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jqueryui/1.10.3/jquery-ui.min.js"></script>

Changed that, and all was resolved.
