I’ve installed the plugin and in the “Search appearance” settings of Yoast I have my custom post type setup to show a meta description using “%%excerpt%%”. These are pages that have no standard wordpress post content and in my templates only show data from custom ACF fields.
The result is that the pages have no meta description and if logged in as admin I get the standard message "Admin only notice: this page does not show a meta description because it does not have one, either write it for this page specifically or go into the [SEO – Search Appearance] menu and set up a template"
So what am I doing wrong, is using %%excerpt%% the issue ?
