In Chrome I get the comment "This extension may soon no longer be supported because it doesn't follow best practices for Chrome extensions."

There is a tool that can aid with (part of) the conversion, but I'm not sure how much work would be left: https://developer.chrome.com/docs/extensions/develop/migrate

Happy to accept contributions for this, but I've abandoned Chrome as a result of Manifest V3.
