Search engine disappears from list #62

Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 9 years ago

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Add wikipedia de to search engines
2. change the icon URL
3. After some restarts wikipedia de disappears from the search list

What do you expect to happen? What do you see instead?

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system and
Firefox version?
Win XP, FF 3.5.5

What other add-ons are you using?
Drag and Drop Zones

Please provide any additional information below.
Hello,
I added de and en wikipedia to my search engines from mycroft. since the
they use different icons (which looks strange) I changed the icon from
wikipedia de to use the same as wiki en. However that after some time
wikipdia de disappears from my list. the xml (see attachment) is still
available in my searchplugins directory and I can also use the search
engine via the drag&drop zones search extension.

My best guess is that it somehow got hidden. Did you try restoring it?
("File -> Restore default engine")

Doesn't that deletes all my search engines?
I did not try, because iam afraid of loosing my engines and settings. Is there
an way
to backup/transfer them?

Also in 1.6 I changed the icon and it appears in the settings, but not in the
search
window, even after FF restart???

This won't delete all engines. It will just open a list with all hidden engines
so
they can be made visible again. (Usually these are engines that shipped with
Firefox
and were then removed - those can't reliably be deleted from disk).

I couldn't check out the icon issue yet.

I'm closing this issue as Invalid because I can't reproduce it or got any other
report of it happening.

I will reopen it, if that situation changes.
