3 years ago I took a closer look and it's not a mutual influence of the two devices, but sequences attached to the buttons are not properly saved and /or displayed in smartthings app. Sometimes one button gets more than one appearance in automations and in that case smarthings doesn't display nothing at all while the sequence is still working well
When adding a second device they influence each other when you add a function in the device settings ie when you program the first button the settings for the first button at the other device are erased, though they keep on working with the same settings tia for looking into it
