Using Gamepad API for changing the view #19

Should have the wishlist label: "futuristic/awesome".

This will enable the use of a 3D haptic interface for web-designing. Possibly useful for supporting Leap motion as well.

Polyfills/shims: https://github.com/STRd6/Boomstick https://code.google.com/p/javascript-joystick/

Awesome is understatement !

Matt, when will you have sometime I want to catch up with you and see what I can help you with.

Haha yeah that is really cool! Add that to the html5 gamepad api , and there are lots of possibilities! (also : https://github.com/leapmotion/leapjs)

@zerocool898 haha totally, so much fun (and usefulness) to be had with these interaction possibilities ! I already mentioned this to Erik, but I did some very small experiments using voice recognition to write the code and thus shapes for Ultishaper/Coffeescad , was fun , and could be great so disabled people could use it via voice commands.

hmm do we have a guy named Matt on board btw?

Im-Hal-9K commented 10 years ago

No Matt = Mark, I just had a long weekend. Sorry buddy.

Hey guys ... I need to apologize to both of you ...

Between work (new customer), the KCOHG and just life in general I've sucked at keeping up and trying to help so going forward now that things have slowed down and are getting much better on this end I promise to do my best so what can I do ... I know we still want to do the game as you go through the code ... but what else ... I know we had some awesome stuff we were talking before ... what can I do ... ;)

Hi Hal,

We're not slowing down with creating awesome plans, but with MakerFaire NYC around the corner our development capacity is limited. We want to have an awesome presence there and show people and press our future vision and ... awesome new developments :) (and YouMagine is just one of them)

Hi Hal! I have been trying to comment here for a while now but kept getting errors from Github..weird! So yeah no real slowdown here either, I am still working on the updated kernel for Ultishaper/Coffeescad, and making good progress:

Hello Mark and Hal!

The changes sound really good! Now, after the launch, I will be able to free up more time to work with you guys on UltiShaper and YouMagine!

I'd first like to make sure we publish the documentation for the YouMagine API. I am so looking forward to integrating the UltiShaper with it! If you've missed the press conference this friday, here it is: http://youtu.be/2Gf3JSwsd1s

  • loading "resources" (wheter code or STL, AMF, etc) from various locations works
  • the updated geometric api based on three.js is also well underway
  • lots more Erik and Henk have been very busy with the Ultimaker 2 and MakerFaire(s) it seems :)
