The update to eslint 9 is a huge breaking change that wasn't caught because we used the special GitHub action that just swallowed errors.
We should merge #224 soon too to prevent this from happening again.
To help with the move to v9 later I've migrated the config automatically. See https://eslint.org/docs/latest/use/migrate-to-9.0.0#flat-config
