Antenne question #13

Hello,

I have tried using the KISS gadget from my home. However, I fail to get a connection to TTN there, while it does work in another location. However, I had the same result with another (completely different type of) LoRa device, TTN did not receive anything either until I replaced the antenna (with a simple piece of wire instead of a more fancy antenna...).

Would it be possible to replace the antenna of my KISS gadget too? What pin or connection could I solder my alternative antenna to? I have looked at the schematics, but I can not find it there. Could it work without desoldering the current antenna (which I would prefer)? Have you tested the KISS device with alternative antennas by any change, and if so did it affect the results? Any advice is welcome.

I think the KISS has a pretty good antenna for its size. Better than the TTN UNO strips. I have reached gateways from 10KM away. But at the powerup with the OTAA join you must be closer to a gateway (1KM works for me). Nice to see some KISS devices on the mapping list: https://ttnmapper.org/leaderboard.php A bigger antenna makes it harder to hide the device in a bag or box. More TTN gateways benefit more people. Or try KPN LORA: https://loradeveloper.mendixcloud.com/login.html
