Mentioning another user with the @ sign in a post or a reply does not trigger a notification to be sent along with the message.
Testing this on another Friendica instance suggests this is a Yunohost Friendica issue (it works correctly on libranet.de).
Context
YunoHost version: 11.2.10 (stable)
I have access to my server through SSH and through the webadmin
Are you in a special context or did you perform some particular tweaking on your YunoHost instance?: no
Using, or trying to install package version/branch: 2023.12~ynh2
Steps to reproduce
Sign in to Yunohost's version of Friendica
Compose a new post, and mention another user with the @ sign
For testing, I used my Mastodon username to see if I'd get notified there
Post the message
No notification comes, but the post silently appears in the feed
Or:
In another Fediverse software (e.g. Mastodon), write and post an ordinary post
In Yunohost Friendica, make a comment to that post as a reply -- it should @-mention the recipient automatically.
No notification comes, but the reply silently appears in the feed and attached to the original post.
Expected behaviour
The recipient should receive a notification when someone @-mentions them. (In Mastodon this will also cause the post containing the @-mention to appear in the Notifications section and not the Home feed.)
This should happen both in the web/desktop interfaces and via the various apps (tested on Tusky; same behaviour).
Logs
I've checked in the php8.7 logs via the Yunohost web admin panel, and have set up logging in Friendica -> Admin -> Logs, and no error messages appear. To my untrained eye, everything seems normal.
I updated Friendica to the latest branch as explained here, and notifications now pop up as they should when I send @-mentioned messages. :slightly_smiling_face: Success!
