you can probably strengthen permissions on the install dir. i guess only a subdir really needs to be www-data:www-data. the rest can be root:root

of which folder do you think ?

If you set permissions only to root in the dirs of the app, www-data won't be able to execute the .php files. I don't see any dir that is not accessed by the application.
