Federation doesn't seem to work with rooms #150

Hi there, I'm logged in my custom server running Synapse on Riot iOS app.

If I try to contact someone who's outside my domain, it works for chatting. Federation works for that.

But when I get on the rooms section, I get the list of rooms but I can't join them for some reasons.

Here's how it looks when I try to enter the official Matrix HQ room : 19-09-12 10-38-00 8166

I doesn't even show the full information. And when I try to join, I get this error: 19-09-12 10-38-04 8167

Have you also experienced that issue? I don't know where to check Synapse's console in order to eventually share with you some log or get a clue at what's happening behind :/

Hello,

Are you sure that this room exist ? It don't look like an official room address.

I'm investigating and I'll get back with a cleared description. Behaviours are different from one client to another, it's not super clear if it's coming from the server or the client..

You should test federation with https://federationtester.matrix.org/ and see the feedback.
