We have some preliminary documentation of subdivisions of the digestive tract across vertebrates here:
http://purl.obolibrary.org/obo/uberon/references/reference\_0000034
Comments welcome!
A few notes on the multi-species representation that may inform yours, hopefully we can be logically and terminologically consistent:
- "gut" is often used ambiguously. I prefer digestive tube or tract (a la Kardong)
In uberon we distinguish between
- cloaca - the actual chamber, a multi-tissue structure

made new structure cloaca and cloaca epithelium make cloacal lumen exact synonym for cloacal chamber cloaca is part_of gut (alimentary tract mouth to vent/anus/cloacal opening) made intestinal opening for where intestine empties into cloaca.

Still need to figure out vent/anus/urogenital opening relationships and make structures. Issue confused by sloppy use of terms by researchers and only experimental data from young fish.

There should probably be a relationship between the proctodeum, vent and the cloacal chamber and gut. Need to figure out and add relationships.
