Alias: FBMN

Definition: Facial branchiomotor neurons are born beginning at 16 hpf in rhombomere 4 and migrate caudally into r6 and r7. Their axons project anteriorly and then turn dorso-laterally to exit the hindbrain in r4. FBMNs innervate muscles derived from the second branchial arch.
