excellent project, wondering if it could be broken into modules? see my tutorials for verilog on ice40 https://github.com/peepo/verilog_tutorials_BB

had you come across the icestorm open source tool-chain http://www.clifford.at/icestorm/ for ice40 hx1k hx8k and up5k? cost ~$10 for developer board
