Cartogram algorithms #2

The R library cartogram uses a fairly old method to generate cartograms (which doesn't always preserve spatial topology). I don't know of any other cartogram implementations in R.

I haven't done much searching, but this algo seems to produce nice fast results with decent I/O for R: https://github.com/Flow-Based-Cartograms/go_cart

Thanks for the information, and I will have a read on it and see if it is applicable to our data sets. Hopefully, I can provide some information about it in our Thursday meeting.
