Hi @grndkntrl.
A dark theme is 100% possible and it should have been on the backlog already, so thank you for raising an issue. A pure dark mode will be less likely but I'll look into it. However, due to the web technology I'm using it's unlikely that support DarkReader (or similar) will be possible but hopefully just having a dark theme will make it unnecessary anyway.
@Zambrella, Wow quick response, I'm impressed, Thanks!
That's great, I did have a look through the Roadmap and didn't see it there, so just figured nobody had gotten around to requesting it yet, and then on checking in the issue here that confirmed it, especially as I seem to be the first person (other yourself) to open an issue about anything!
I did have a suspicion that the web-app wasn't working with the DarkReader extension due to some incompatibility with the underlying framework, so that's understandable.
An internal dark theme would be great in place of DR compatibility, and I'd be happy with a regular dark mode on the phone too.
Thanks again!
Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe. Not really a problem as such (although I suppose it is in a small way though!) but, in order to reduce eye strain, I like to have as many apps use a Dark Mode theme on both my Samsung Galaxy Android phone, and also sites in the desktop browser (where I also use the very well known DarkReader extension for sites that don't natively have their own dark theme).
Describe the solution you'd like In the app I'd like to see the option to switch into Dark Mode, and also preferably within that option to then have what's commonly referred to as an "AMOLED Black" theme which on Samsung phones (and any others with an AMOLED display panel) will decrease screen power usage considerably.
On the web-version I'd like a Dark Mode option too, or at the very least enable it to be DarkReader compatible, as currently it is not able to do anything to its appearance.
Describe alternatives you've considered Not possible.
Additional context DarkReader has information on making a website be able to use Dark Mode through the DarkReader API.
Thanks, Glenn
