Spring 1 Crows explanation.

Hoe + plant + water Parsnip Seeds + Mixed Seeds. Crows may eat some, but the value of your Mixed Seeds is likely higher than your loss, and you will buy whatever you still need for the Spring Crops bundle on Spring 5 or 6.

Can you explain why not buy all seeds on Spring 6? Why does the route have you buy and plant seeds at all on Spring 5? To rush things along?

I'm not following the question - the guide recommends that you buy seeds on Spring 5, not Spring 6, so there isn't a contradiction.

You buy seeds on Spring 5 because that's when you have the money to do so + you are in town already because you are upgrading your pickaxe.

Thus, it wouldn't be optimal to buy seeds on Spring 6, because then you making a trip to walk to town and wasting time for no reason.
