Can I get a suggestion for APK? #281

I am playing on mobile. I haven't ever played Stardew Valley on PC. So, I don't quite have a experience about files and such. And this is my first time trying to use mods. I installed SMAPI but when I launch, it crashes. Is it because I am playing using a Stardew Valley APK? Is SMAPI suppose to only work when the game is installed from PlayStore or something? I even went as far as to download other versions such as to download APK versions:- 1.4.5.142 1.4.5.148 1.5.6.34 1.5.6.39 1.5.6.37 And none of them helped, it always crashes. And also, I think my phone is non-rootable, is that the reason? Or is this irrelevant for SMAPI launching? Can I please get a suggestion on what to do? Maybe even SV APK links that will work? I am lost😅

The latest release works on version stardew 1.4.5.151 if I remember correctly. 1.5 was recently released for mobile and there currently isn't a mobile smapi release for it yet, but it is being worked on.

The patcher doesn't use root at all, android's built in file framework provides everything nessisary for grabbing the game files.

Also make sure you're not grabbing a pre-patched apk, or one that has had license verification disabled (for piracy) as those won't work.

Thank you!!! Launching works now. The first mod I am trying to install from Nexus is NPC Map locations mod. I installed it, followed the instructions. And when I launched the app. It showed something like:-

Skipped mods These mods could not be added to your game.

This was what was shown in red(and of course beside it was [SMAPI] in each line). And I don't know what to do now😅. I thought I downloaded the latest version of SMAPI which is SMAPI.Installer_v3.7.6.10.apk

And then I remembered when I tapped on the Manual, it showed that Additional files required which is SMAPI - Stardew Modding API. So I went back and installed it too. And once again launched the app. And this time, in addition to previous one, it also showed:-

SMAPI 3.18.2-2400-3-18-2-1673282439 because it contains files, but none of them are manifest.json.

That's it...and once again, I am stuck on what to do😭 Please help.

The latest releases on nexus mods are for a newer version of the game. Some mods have a listed android version, but others you have to go to old files. Look for the releases that target smapi 3.7.6.

you need to download previous version of npc location i recommended you download any mod that release before December/2020, that where before 1.5 release

Is there any list of mods which works for the present version? This is taking me too long. To simply the process, I put the range in NexusMods from 13 January 2021 to 5 January 2023(according to android release versions). And I downloaded the first that appeared which is Event Lookup Locations which also required Event Lookup so I installed that too. And tried to launch the app but it required Content Patcher. So, installed that too. And once again launched the app, this time it showed that Content Patcher required SMAPI 3.15.0 or later....so, obviously I need older version of Content Patcher, searched on Google how to find the older versions and found that I have to check files. So did that and found it. The one for Android. Installed it. And once again, launched the app. This time, it showed:-

These mods could not be added to your game. Event Lookup 0.2.7 because its DLL couldn't be loaded. Event Lookup 0.2.7 because its DLL couldn't be loaded. Event Lookup Locations 1.3.0 because it needs the Event Lookup mod, which couldn't be loaded.

Yeah...I didn't know what should I do. I don't know the meaning of DLL. So, I thought maybe once again older version of Event Lookup? Went to check it's files and installed Event Lookup 0.2.5. And launched the app once again. And in place of the Event Lookup part got:-

Event Lookup 0.2.5 because it's no longer compatible. Please check for a new version at https://smapi.io/mods Event Lookup 0.2.5 because it's no longer compatible. Please check for a new version at https://smapi.io/mods

Sooo, went to that link. And it doesn't load? I mean it shows up on screen for a split second and then vanishes. I was confused and thought maybe desktop site? So, check marked that and still same.

I am again...stuck. Not sure where to go from here? What is DLL?

if you're on ver m1.5 then u have to wait for smapi3.8 we are current talking about smapi 3.7 in this topic section

you should check nexus mod instead of smapi.mod some mod from smapi.mod not even work properly

  • Oasis Greenhouse (Nicer / Little Bigger than Vanilla Greenhouse)
  • Look out everything (using Q button on Virtual Keyboard to see all detail of Machine/NPC/etc)
  • NPC Location SVE (NPC Location Mod for SVE)
  • Farm Expanded Mod (Big Farm Map when select Standard Map on character create menu)
  • Jens cellar mod (Better Cellar!)
  • 1.5 House for Mobile (adding 1.5 southeast conner and northeast conner from 1.5 to 1.4 and with additional small inhouse garden/bathroom/rooftop)
  • Harvest with Scyth (using Scyth to harvest all crop)

Lol, I see that. I have been browsing through them. Like directly checking from Nexus SMAPI API of Mods requiring SMAPI. And there's so many. I am installing the ones I like. There are also many I had to learn the hard way that they won't work. It would be nice if Nexus had a direct Filter which only showed download links working for Android.

It's up to the developer of the mod to list versions compatible with other versions of the game, Wether it be blades and sorcery or skyrim or stardew. The ability is there, but most people don't do it. I think pathoschild does but I'm not sure of anyone else.

Other than the already given four(Console Commands, Save Backup, Custom Localisation, Virtual Keyboard), I have downloaded (through my browsing):- Content Patcher Expanded Preconditions Utility Eight Corners Farm (this one I disabled because it was glitching my shipping bin unfortunately) Space Core Experience Bars Add Berry Seasons to Calendar JsonAssets Advanced Medicine All Professions Allow Beach Sprinklers Chests Anywhere Generic Mod Config Menu Stardew Hack Movement Speed Always Scroll Map [CP] An's Even Bigger Shed Animal Patting Animal Social Menu [this one I have been unable to access unfortunately, it works by the looks of it but it doesn't appear on Menu to click on. Maybe its on my side or its mistaken that it could work on 1.4?] Automate Better Junimos Auto Fishing Non Destructive NPCs Auto watering (I kind of hoped that it would also water the pet bowl. But it doesn't sadly. And I don't know which mod it is but my suspicion is on this mod, which is, my pet bowl doesn't have water even on rain😭 Maybe I will look into a specific mod which does that and hopefully find one) [CP] Hot Spring Farmcave CJB Cheats Menu CJB Item Spawner [CP] Daisy Niko's Timesheets PyTK Tractor Mod Skull Cavern Elevator NPC Map Locations Lookup Anything SMAPI Health Bar Mod

Phew! Those are all I have installed as of right now. Few of the ones in your list that caught my eye; I will look into them after a few hours(More Food Buff, Oasis Greenhouse, Shipping Chest Android, Automatic Gates, Event Repeater, House 1.5 Mobile-assets, House 1.5, Ladder Locator, Skip Fishing Minigame). Lol, I gave mine just in case it might help 👍

Umm then is there any other ways to get older versions of an app on android? If there is then I would love to try it!

I do have the latest version too but SMAPI won't work on it. And I don't think we can downgrade an app or something, right? Or is there a way?

You can either use a backup you have of stardew 1.4.5.151 or you could pirate it but that second one we can't help you with as it's illegal pretty much everywhere except sweeden under certain circumstances.
