So, on older versions, SMAPI comes with four basic mods: virtual keyboard, save backup etc. I can't find any download links for the virtual keyboard or any other mods

Its an alpha, Save backup its not updated yet. And you don't really need virtual keyboard as no mods apart from CP works. https://github.com/ZaneYork/SMAPI-Android-Installer/issues/246#issuecomment-1495301524

Not quite true. TimeSpeed mod works with alpha and this uses keybinds, so virtual keyboard would be helpful.

Custom localization is needed! Without it, I can't retexture :(
