Installing mods does not work #556

So after some trouble getting it installed I eventually got it. Then when I put mods into stardewvalley/mods, they don't install! since my phone doesn't let me explore android/data I used the computer to put the mods into the android/data/.comstardew/files/mods folder and it worked.

So for whatever reason (I guess android 11?) SMAPI can't write mods into the files/mod folder =/

EDIT: I tried "Seasonal anime portraits", did not work.. tried with Total Commander file manager and others, it doesn't want to extract the content (security reasons maybe?).

are you on android 11? iirc only android 13 has problems on accessing Android/data files. Try using the Zarchiver to access it or MT manager. Most Mods that uses content patcher should work now so I guess your seasonal anime portraits must have some files missing for it to now work.

Not sure which android I'm on TBH, I just saw something about 11 causing issues :) Samsung S21 latest version so yeah probably I'm on Android 13.

Yeah I got CBJ, C Patcher and NPC map to work so far but it's been annoying since not all file managers seem to be able to access android/data, whenever I tried to extract the files from the anime mod it would only make a folder and not extract the files...

I'll try those apps and see how it goes :)

I'm not in a rush since I will wait to play until SVE works, I know there is some patch out there but I think it was experimental.
